A general checklist cannot supply equipment-specific acceptance limits or safe-work instructions. Keep the equipment manual, approved procedure, responsible person and revision date with each local adaptation. A checked box is not proof of a safe condition. Preserve observations and the decision that followed.
Use the reliability calculator in teaching
The reliability article includes a working tool for operating exposure, failure counts and repair duration. Use a consistent asset population and time window. Distinguish operating-hours MTBF from a calendar gap between incidents. Zero observed failures does not establish infinite reliability. Link the calculation to the actual source records before using it to make a maintenance decision.
